Enduring Powers of Attorney
Since 2007, Enduring Powers of Attorney ( EPA’s) may no longer be arranged and have been replaced by new legislation. If you already hold an EPA it is still valid and potentially effective. These documents empower the donee (the attorney or attorneys) to act for the donor (who signed the EPA) should they lose capacity, either physically or mentally. If however the donor does lose mental capacity then the document must be registered by the attorneys with the Office of the Public Guardian.
ENDURING POWERS OF ATTORNEY ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
