Living Will / Advanced Directives

Advanced Directives (also called Living Wills) are now ( since the introduction in October 2007 of the new amendments to the Mental Capacity Act 2005) becoming more popular with clients. This document is an expression of your desire to inform medical staff of your wishes, whether it be to prolong your life, or to refuse certain medical procedures, foods, or care.  Once we have written an Advance Directive it should be placed with your medical records, and a copy left with your will. This can always be changed and amended and offers a great relief to the client who may be concerned by religious or personal issues that are valued highly in their beliefs.
